Welcome!

My name is Ms Farzana Panayi (FCCA).  I have been a Maths Tutor since 2003.

I teach from home which is situated in the heart of Enfield Town, London.

I became a tutor because I believe that, by teaching a child how to focus and be interested in something as important as education, they can achieve the satisfaction and pride in obtaining very high grades. The experience teaches them a very valuable lesson in life: anything is possible with hard work and if your attitude is attuned to enjoyable, it’s not work! It’s just getting to where you want to be.

The ultimate goal of private one-to-one tutoring is to provide personalised attention to pupils to help them perform better in school. With the additional support, the child enjoys and values the process of learning and wants to participate in class.

I follow the dfe (Department for Education) National Curriculum and am thoroughly familiar with all the Subject Specifications.

I provide the best teaching worksheets, past papers and practice papers to help your child learn the topics and strengthen their understanding of challenging topics. Considering that children have different abilities in the learning process and show their own unique strengths and weaknesses, this is carefully assessed and I apply the most suitable teaching method based on their educational needs.

I will keep you informed of your child’s progress on a regular basis and will discuss any specific concerns whenever necessary.

Subjects:

  1. KS1 Maths and English
  2. KS2 Maths and English
  3. KS3 Maths
  4. GCSE Maths
  5. 11+ exam preparation – Maths, English, Non Verbal Reasoning and Verbal Reasoning

Help your child

  • Enjoy Maths.
  • Gain the confidence. Confidence in Maths (a potential tricky subject) has a positive impact on all the other subjects.
  • Be disciplined in their work/homework. This discipline extends to other subjects too.
  • Be enthusiastic about learning.
  • Take pride in their grades and feel a sense of accomplishment.
  • Feel the advantage of extra special support.
  • Clear the mental blocks developed from one or two topics and feel more powerful.
  • Achieve a strong foundation of the basics. Once this is achieved, all other topics are so much easier to grasp.

Learn how to work through many exam paper-style questions to avoid the panic and confusion and develop mental stamina.

If you write out pi – 3.14-to two decimal places, backwards it spells “pie”.

555 is used by some in Thailand as slang for “hahaha”, because the word for “five” is pronounced “ha”.

Here is a good explanation as to why one gets panic attacks on seeing the mathematics exam paper. The word mathematics is an anagram of ‘me asthmatic’.

The mysterious question of what arrives after a million, billion and trillion? The answers are: quadrillion, quintillion, sextillion, septillion, octillion, nonillion, decillion and undecillion.

The numbers of spatial dimensions we live in physically today are 3 but a woman spying on her husband can think in innumerable dimensions!

I think the most times I have laughed in an hour have been with Farzana at tuitions but I somehow managed to learn loads. I dropped only 1 mark in my Yr 6 SATs and I achieved an A in my Maths GCSE a whole year early.

– Selin B

Farzana is the most welcoming, kind hearted and warm woman you will ever meet. She would always greet me with a smile on my face; dare I say it, I actually started to enjoy maths! She somehow changed my whole approach to all my exams, not just maths.

– Kate B

I think we both had tears in our eyes when my daughter casually mentioned that she quite likes maths now that Farzana tutors her. She was predicted a D or if she really applied herself she may get a C but the teachers were not confident with this. My daughter eventually got her GCSE result and she got a very proud B, a few marks off an A!

– Eva P (mother of student)

The tuitions were one of the best investments I made in my life and she is an investment I would encourage anyone to make.

- Naomi T

Phoebe got an A for her GCSE and is completely delighted – prior to going to Farzana, we were anticipating a C grade, and I can’t recommend Farzana enough; I just wish we had started tutoring with her earlier in the year.

- Caroline E

Further proof of how fantastic a tutor Farzana was is that she actually, without even directly convincing me, made me love Maths and be so confident that I also took it for A-Level!

-  Tessa G

I loved the way Farzana made her teaching methods more like a fun game rather than a tedious routine. I instantly knew how to tackle questions that I didn’t understand at school.

– Laila B

All my children successfully got into the selective school of their/our choice! They thoroughly enjoyed their lessons with Farzana!

– Julie C

My 10 year old son has had tuitions with Farzana for just over a year. During that time, she has had a huge impact not only on his competence in Maths but perhaps, more importantly, on his belief in himself and his abilities.

– Carol M

Within 18 months, my son moved from set 6 to set 1 in Maths and achieved an A in his GCSE. We were over the moon, thanks to Farzana. She is a very kind, down to earth person. She was like someone being sent by God to help my son in Maths.

– Anna D

I started tuitions with Farzana and due to my school allowing Yr 10 early entry maths GCSE, I was able to get an A*. This meant that I was able to study OCR Additional Maths during Year 11. The school was not in a position to provide much in the way of lessons for this additional course but because I had sessions with Farzana, I was able to achieve the highest grade A.

– Sabina P

Farzana was my maths tutor for an entire year, taking me from a D student at the end of Year 10 to achieving an A at GCSE.

– Lydia F

Farzana is an expert in her profession. Her astounding knowledge of maths, ambition and generous personality inspires me to not only to achieve within my subjects but in all areas of life.

-Toni B

She treated my children as though they were her own. I would recommend Farzana to any child that struggles with maths regardless of the stage they are at. With Farzana as a maths tutor, they can excel higher than they could ever imagine.
