Farzana was my tutor for over 5 years and I learnt so much through her. Her methods of teaching really helped me through any exam that I have ever taken, not just maths. Farzana incorporated general exam techniques whilst teaching the subject which made it easier for me to tackle exams and remember information. She always seemed to have a joke about everything. I think the most times I have laughed in an hour have been with Farzana at tuitions but I somehow managed to learn loads. I dropped only 1 mark in my Yr 6 SATs and I achieved an A in my Maths GCSE a whole year early.
Farzana is an amazing person and an incredible maths teacher. I loved every minute I spent with her because not only did I have lots of fun but I also achieved great results. She somehow convinced me that maths was my friend! She had a lot of faith in me and she boosted my confidence so much. I would just like to show my appreciation and gratitude to Farzana for helping my daughter with Maths.
Through her secondary school years I was informed by her maths teacher’s that my daughter did not “get” maths. I was not happy with this remark so decided to invest in a private tutor, and that’s when I met Farzana.

I would like to assert the brilliance of Farzana Panayi’s tuitions and the impact it has had on me personally and academically.
Prior to my tuitions with Farzana, Maths had always been my weakness, as a recent university graduate getting my GCSE in Maths was a vital step to helping me to move forward professionally and academically. My friend had referred me to Farzana after testifying that she had assisted her dramatically, helping her to eventually attain an A in maths. Needless to say I was not disappointed, throughout the five months of tuitions I felt that Farzana imparted a different understanding of Maths that I had not received, in all stages of mainstream education.
Her approach to maths was creative and personal, and I never felt insecure about the level of or lack of knowledge I held. Her teaching style was also very flexible, she had a variety of ways of helping me to understand how different modules of maths connected, thus making her teaching very practical and easy to understand. Rather than teaching to an orthodox curriculum she linked different aspects of maths together, For example linear sequences can be plotted to make a linear graphs. This helped me to see maths as a bigger picture, (a “dance” as she would say) rather than masses of mathematical methods that I had to remember.
Tuitions with Farzana were fun! For the first time in my life, maths made sense, and Farzana was assisting me in understanding and exploring maths as if it was the first time I was being taught the subject. Farzana, as a tutor, was very professional, organised and thorough. She became my “go to person” when I did not understand something at college. I felt privileged and secure to know I had someone I could go to help me understand what I did not know in a way that I could comprehend.
The tuitions were one of the best investments I made in my life and she is an investment I would encourage anyone to make.

Farzana Panayi tutored my daughter for several months prior to her Maths GCSE in June 2011. We had been recommended her by another parent at the same school, who was very pleased with the progress her daughter had made in maths and had seen an enormous improvement improving her maths by several grades.

She understood the GCSE syllabus extremely well and developed a plan of action that would cover all the relevant topics and key elements that she needed. I started tuitions with Farzana and due to my school allowing Yr 10 early entry maths GCSE, I was able to get an A*. This meant that I was able to study OCR Additional Maths during Year 11. The school was not in a position to provide much in the way of lessons for this additional course but because I had sessions with Farzana, I was able to achieve the highest grade A.
I have really enjoyed learning with Farzana. She is a brilliant teacher who makes the subject clear and interesting. She has a way of teaching that makes methods to solving problems memorable and easy to learn. Farzana has also always been patient when I have not understood something.
The homework she sets makes you work harder and reinforces what she teaches during the lessons. I have found the past papers she has given me very beneficial as it puts me ahead of the rest of the class due to all the extra work I did.
Furthermore, Farzana is a friend to all her students and really wants them to do well. I have got on very well with her and I am sad that we will no longer have lessons together but she has inspired me to the extent that I am now taking A Level maths.

I have known Farzana for a number of years now as she taught my three children Math and English in order to prepare them for the 11+ exams. She is a brilliant teacher and a wonderful person too.
She is very patient with her students and adapts her teaching style according to each of them. She is very knowledgeable about the material she teaches, but also uses humour and ‘fun’ methods to enthuse the children. Farzana is a very friendly, warm and positive person and she gives each of her students personal attention and regard and in this way makes them feel at ease during the lessons and provides a good atmosphere for learning.
When my eldest son had his lessons, Farzana let me stay with the younger two siblings in her sitting-room in order to save me going home and back again. This was extremely kind of her as it went beyond her duties. If I needed an additional lesson or change lesson times, she was always flexible and fitted us in, even though it meant she worked later into the evening or the weekend.

Having Farzana as a maths tutor has given me much more confidence in my maths abilities. She has taught me so many new and creative ways of approaching and solving maths problems. I remember when I first started my maths tuitions with her. I was 10 and extremely shy. At the time, my maths abilities were very poor. I failed to engage with the subject and thus was constantly failing it. One of the first things that Farzana told me was that maths is fun. I was puzzled by her love for and positive attitude towards maths. However now being 17, I have also adopted her enthusiasm towards the subject!
During my first year of tuitions, my level of maths excelled, I was soon achieving over 90% in my maths papers and I swiftly moved from a bottom set maths class to a top set maths class. Even in secondary school, I was in top set from year 7 all to way to year 11. With Farzana, I always felt one step ahead of my peers. She would teach me topics (e.g. Trigonometry and Advanced Algebra) months before I was taught the same topics in school. Usually for homework, I would do an exam paper every week. Soon I found that I had not only completed all the exam papers from my maths syllabus (Edexcel) but also from other maths syllabuses before year 11. Her tuitions allowed me to see even the most challenging maths questions as easy and simple.
I remember the joy I felt being consistently told that I was one of the top maths students in my year group out of nearly 200 other students. Or the fact that, in year 11, I achieved an A* grade. Even during my AS year, Farzana has instilled confidence in me to believe that I can succeed in maths. She can solve even the most complex and time consuming maths problems.
When I have maths tuitions, it allows me to forget all of my other problems in life. With Farzana, maths is more like a competitive game. I remember me rushing every time she presented me with a maths question to see if I could solve it faster than her. Throughout these years, Farzana has also gotten to know me personally. She is extremely trustworthy, kind hearted and empathetic. I feel that I can talk to her about anything and that she has watched me grow up, like a parent figure.

My oldest daughter Emma was struggling with maths in year 7 and was in bottom set. I was very worried because the feedback I would receive from her teacher at school was very disappointing and discouraging. I immediately started to search for a maths tutor to help my daughter. Given that my daughter has learning difficulties, I knew that I to find that to find someone who was not only an expert in maths but also patient enough to encourage my daughter. Shortly after my first daughter’s success in maths, I enrolled my second daughter Toni to have tuitions with Farzana .She was 10 years old at the time and failing maths.
